Chaine Military Competition Marine Chef Sergeant Blanquivett Robinson

Chefs from all five military services will be competing May 18th at the Chaine Military Competition during Culinary Weekend in Charleston, South Carolina in May. The winner will be the U.S. Military representative in this year's International Jeunes Commis Rôtisseur competition. For more information please go to https://www.chaineus.org/

Over the next week we will be featuring a military chef competitor from each service.

Our Fifth Chef is Marine Chef Sergeant Blanquivett Robinson.

Blanquivett Robinson, Sergeant, USMC

Current Assignment:

Depot Protocol Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Headquarters Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina.

Major Assignments:

Blanquivett Robinson graduated boot camp in November 2009, and then attended Marine Combat Training, and MOS school to serve as a Food Service Specialist. After Basic Food Service School Private First Class Robinson was assigned to Service Company, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay. While stationed there she served as Snack Line Assistant Chief Cook, and Base Food Services, Orders Clerk and Quality Assurance Evaluator. Also, during this time she participated in numerous Food Service Competitions to include Chef of the Quarter, Chef of the Year, and was part of Joint Team Hawaii (collaboration between with the United States Army). As a result of these competitions she was selected as the First place winner for the FY13, 4th Quarter Chef of the Quarter Competition advancing her to participate in the Chef of the Year Competition, we she also won First Place. In December of 2012 she placed Gold at an American Culinary Association competition at Kapi’Olani Community College. Sgt Robinson traveled to Fort Lee, Virginia with Joint Team Hawaii, and participated in the largest Armed Forces Culinary Competition earning a bronze medal in an individual competition and silver medal in the Team Building Competition.

In April 2013, Corporal Robinson received orders to 2D Marine Logistics Group, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, Food Service Company, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. There, she was an Assistant Chief Cook for Bravo Watch in Mess Hall French Creek 303 and Mess Hall 521, Company Legal and Administration Clerk and Mess Hall Training Non-Commissioned Officer. Prior to executing orders Corporal Robinson attended The Corporals Leadership Course.

Upon completion of Corporals Leadership Course, Corporal Robinson transferred to 2D Marine Aircraft Group, Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 where she performed the duties of Field Mess Training Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge and was the Primary for the Marine Corps Mentorship Program ensuring all in-bound Marines received proper assistance and guidance prior to checking into the unit.

On 1 July 2015, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and in October 2015 performed a change of assignment to Headquarters Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. She is currently serving as Depot Protocol Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge coordinating lodging, seating, and other accommodations for many Active Duty military members, as well as Retirees and Civilian family members attending Recruit Training Graduations.

Sgt Robinson’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.
