Staff Sergeant Steven Broome presently serves as a Personal Chef to the Secretary of Defense.  Staff Sergeant
Broome fell in love with cooking while serving in the army.  The military taught him basic food preparation and
cookery which he brought into the classroom while attending at the Art Institute of Washington.  After culinary school
Sergeant Broome branched out doing personal chef work and catering while working at the Pentagon.

Staff Sergeant Broome has influenced many soldiers at the U.S.’s largest culinary competition held on Fort Lee,
teaching young chefs and soldiers how to improve the quality of their food and bring it back to their facilities for two
years in a row, and has competed their the last six years, winning many medals on domestic and international level.  
Sergeant Broome is a member of the United States Army Culinary Arts Team which recently competed on the
international stage at the World Culinary Olympics/IKA in Erfurt, Germany where he won two gold medals.   He is a
Certified Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation.
